District Mathura: A Name Synonymous with Religion, Culture, Love, and Worship

Did you know that Mathura is also famous for its street food, such as “Oma ki Kachori” and “Shankar ki Lassi”? I live in Delhi with my family, and recently, a friend of mine from the US visited with his family. They wanted to explore Mathura-Vrindavan, enjoy the local food, and experience a farmhouse or traditional homestay.

My wife and I researched numerous options for a three-day stay and planned an itinerary. We found Brajdham Farms, which offers private pools, AC and non-AC rooms, a lush green environment, and pollution-free air.

We started from Delhi via the Yamuna Expressway and reached Brajdham Farms in 1.5 hours, enjoying the drive along the way. The farmhouse offers two types of dining packages: “Dhaba Style Food” and “Chulhe ki Roti,” with the latter needing to be ordered in advance. Our group opted for “Chulhe ki Roti,” while the kids chose pizza, burgers, and other fast foods.

After resting for an hour, we set off for “Kokila Van” via Kosi, approximately 37 km from Brajdham Farms, a journey of about an hour. There, we enjoyed samosas, bread pakoras, and tea. We then visited Nandgaon, exploring Nand Mahal and Radha Rani Temple, where we took a peaceful break. Our families thoroughly enjoyed the serene atmosphere. After Radha Rani Temple, we visited Nari Semari Mata Mandir before returning to Brajdham Farms.

Back at the farmhouse, we enjoyed the private pool and various games. The setting was perfect, with a large green area and the pleasant sound of birds chirping. Around midnight, we retired to our rooms for the night.

I will share more about our day-by-day experiences, including food, taxi services, temple timings, and some lesser-known religious sites in Mathura-Vrindavan, in my next blog.
